Perluxa is a conceptual luminaire that focuses on haptic dimming. By combining the classic folding art Origami with the smart material shape memory alloy and the conductivity of graphite, a touch-sensitive surface is present which opens by contact. Upon touching the graphite surface, the shape memory alloy becomes active and allows noiseless opening or closing of the elements.
